The days are flying by here at AR! Our athletes are putting in hard work and really kicking it into gear knowing there is NO time to waste when preparing for the next season.

AR's April Champion of the Month, Ben Lopez

Ben Lopez is one of those kids that capitalizes on every workout. Outside of Athletic Revolution, this DeForest Middle Schooler excels at football and baseball. He recently spent 2 weeks in Guatemala with his team taking on their National Little League team!

Ben also likes to keep busy on the slopes as one of his hobbies is snowboarding. This busy youngster still brings a lot of energy in his workouts and is fun to work with! He is always pushing harder to become better, and his good attitude earned him the honor of April’s Champion of the Month!

AR’s February Champion of the Month

Thank goodness there are 29 days in February to let us decide our latest Champion of the Month. It is getting tough to decide who is most deserving of this reward, but one stood out from the others to take home the crown as the Champion of February.

Ben Stremer comes to us from DeForest Middle School where he enjoys playing soccer. He is a hard worker and because of his great attitude and attention to detail we often count on him to mentor our newest Champions to help them with their workouts.

Although he likes to have a good time, Ben also takes his workouts seriously and has made great improvements in his movements, speed, posture, technique, and strength. His newly found confidence in his abilities makes him a great kid to have around.

AR’s January Champion of the Month

Wow! The first month of 2012 has flown by! It has gotten off to a great start as we have a lot of kids doing great things! While a lot of Champions are deserving of this award, you will see that this one is overwhelmingly deserving of it.

AR's January Champion of the Month, Trent Schnell

January’s Champion of the Month is Trent Schnell. He has only been with us for a few months, but has already made great strides in his workouts. Trent always has a great attitude, works hard everytime he comes in, and never leaves without a good sweat (he also likes to rock out to Pearl Jam during workouts!).

Most impressive about Trent is that he rides his bike to his workouts!!! Even in the cold and snowy month of January, he always finds his way to Athletic Revolution. It shows how dedicated and hard working this guy is! When’s the last time you’ve taken your bike for a ride?!

We are glad to have Trent at Athletic Revolution!

AR’s November Champion of the Month

November’s Champion of the Month came to us last Spring to improve his game in hopes to make the Varsity soccer team, and came back after his Sun Prairie Varsity team lost a heartbreaker in the State Sectional Semi-finals.

Jake Boebel, a Freshman at Sun Prairie High School helped his team to a great season and to a berth in the third level of the Division 1 Playoffs. His hard work and dedication to improving earned him a spot on the team and the title of “Champion of the Month”. He has only been back with us for a few weeks, but was easy to reward him from his display of leadership and great attitude.

Although he had a great season, Jake knows his work isn’t done. He is working hard to get stronger, quicker, and faster to help his team get even farther in the Playoffs. We are glad Jake has chosen Athletic Revolution to help him reach his goals!

The school year is well underway and AR is heating up as it is getting cooler outside. The fall sports are almost all wrapped up, but our Champion of the Month has been working hard through the Spring, Summer, and now Fall.

DeForest Middle Schooler Andrew Stouffer-Lerch is our Champion of the Month for October. This soft-spoken hard working 8th grader can be seen tearing it up on the cross country paths and is now ripping it up on the basketball courts. He came to us last Spring with the hopes of strengthening up his legs and building confidence in his movements.

With hard work and dedication, he has built up his strength in his legs (not to mention his core, arms, & back) and has grown confidently right before our eyes! It hasn’t come easily. He came 3x/week over the Summer, on weekends during the school year, performed in our “Reactive Band Camp” and is currently enhancing his basketball skills by joining our “Basketball Academy”.

Congratulations Andrew! Keep up the great work!

AR’s Champion of the Summer

Every month, we typically crown the Champion that displays characteristics of what a true Athletic Revolution Champion should be. It was a great Summer, busy with lots of participancts working hard to get better at their respected sports and activities. We had one Champion who seemed to go above and beyond this Summer to take himself to another level. We thought….is “Champion of the Month” enough to recognize his efforts? The answer was…no! Our first “Champion of the Summer” goes to Tyler Boebel!

Ty rode his bicycle in three times a week since mid-May and made great improvements on his posture, footwork, and strength. He was dedicated to become better on the soccer field, and did so quietly. Ty isn’t much for saying a lot….he let his actions do the talking.

He just started 7th Grade at Prairie View Middle School here in Sun Prairie and will be competing in soccer with Madison’s club team, Madison F.C.

Good job this Summer, Ty! Good luck this fall and keep up the great work!!

AR’s June & July Champions of the Month

August? Really? Man, has this summer blown by! We have had a great few months bringing in a lot of new Champions, many of those deserving of the honor of “Champion of the Month”. Since I have to narrow it down, we had to go with the sister-brother combination of Kelly and Jacob Brehmer as Champs of the last two months.

Kelly is going to be a 7th grader here in Sun Prairie and keeps busy with Volleyball and Basketball. Jacob will be a 5th grader and is an avid Swimmer. They are both hard workers and are always striving to get better. Kelly has been busy this summer with camps and tournaments, while Jacob has been busy with Swim meets and practices. Neither let their busy schedule stand in the way of getting better outside the hardwood or pool by committing themselves to Athletic Revolution.

They both participated in our Reactive Band Camp and have taken their workouts to another level with the addition of Bands and Kettlebells.

Kelly and Jacob have both become better athletes by putting in hard work and having great attitudes while doing it.

Congratulations you two and keep up the great work!

With the end of the school year upon us and the dreadful final exams/papers staring most of our Champions in the eye, Phoebe Wagner shined through and turned in a great month of May! Her dedication and hard work has earned her the Champion of the Month for May.

Phoebe is finishing up 9th Grade at Sun Prairie’s Cardinal Heights Upper Middle School. When she isn’t polishing her skills and getting stronger at Athletic Revolution, she is working hard on the volleyball court and is also a member of Sun Prairie DECA.

Her Wisconsin Select volleyball team just captured gold at a Waukesha Tournament that included 12 teams from the Milwaukee area!

We are glad to have Phoebe here at Athletic Revolution! She is a great student, athlete, role model, and a great kid!

AR’s April Champion of the Month

We are often reminded of why we do what we do here at Athletic Revolution. Nothing is more true and humbling than when we work with a kid like April’s Champion of the Month, Marcus Pierce. Marcus is a strong and determined kid that feels like he can accomplish anything. His latest opponent that has felt the wrath of the “Beefstick”, is cancer.

The Marshall Middle Schooler originally came to us to rehab after surgery to remove cancer in his knee. The football, wrestling, and baseball die hard was determined to get back into the game and didn’t let cancer or the subsequential limp get in his way.

This past winter, he was informed that the cancer came back and had yet another surgery in April to remove it. He has been a warrior through this process and I couldn’t imagine being faced with this at such a young age (or even at my current age). Again, his determination has him convinced that he will be back to AR shortly…and we don’t doubt him!

This picture is typical Marcus taken on Spring Break just a week before his surgery. His never quit attitude is infectious and we are looking forward to his return to Athletic Revolution!

AR’s March Champion of the Month

Hannah O’Connell had a great month of March! Not only did she kill it everytime she came in for a workout, she started her track season strong (crushing her previous shot put PR by 5″), and turned 16….a huge milestone for all teenagers!

Hannah is a Sophomore at Columbus High School and is active in swimming, track, and band. She takes the trek from Columbus to Sun Prairie twice per week and has showed great improvement.

Her hard work and dedication at Athletic Revolution (did I mention one of her workouts is on Thursdays at 5:15am?) has transfered into her track and swimming seasons. She is a good kid with a great attitude and we look forward to anything else she can accomplish here!
